About Punmicro Scientific

Our story

We build instruments for the work that happens before a result — counting, culturing, and moving plates without losing a colony.

Why we started

Microbiology labs are being asked to do more with less. Colony counting — one of the most routine tasks in any lab — is still largely manual: eye strain, inconsistency between operators, and hours spent on plates that should take minutes. Anaerobic work adds another layer of friction, with chambers that are slow to reach atmosphere and awkward to work inside.

We started Punmicro to remove that friction. Not by adding complexity, but by designing instruments that fit the way a lab actually works: plate in, result out, with the same answer whoever runs it.

What we are working toward

  • Reproducibility over raw speed. A count two operators agree on is worth more than a fast count nobody trusts.
  • Anaerobic work without compromise. O2 levels, transfer steps and monitoring should never be the reason an experiment fails.
  • Instruments that stay useful. A tool that only works for one assay is a tool you outgrow. We design for the workflow, not a single task.

What you will find here

  • Instruments — ICON for colony counting, IPAN for anaerobic cultivation, ICONSTATION for automated plate workflows, plus coating systems for reproducible inoculation.
  • Applications — start from the work you do: colony counting, inhibition zone reading, colony picking, spiral plating, susceptibility testing.
  • Resources — application notes, technical explanations, product manuals and support routes.
  • Case studies — how other labs have taken manual steps out of their workflow.

Working with us

Every product ships with application support: someone who can talk through your assay, not just your order. If you are evaluating options, we will look at your plates and your protocol before recommending anything.
